At around 5:30 AM, our chauffeur will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to the Tulsi Ghat. The courtyard of the Shiva temple on this ghat will be the site for your Varanasi yoga tour. Here, a professional yoga instructor, Miss. Smriti Chakravarti, will offer a 90-minute yoga session to help you relax and heal. Smriti is the founder of the Om International Yoga Health Society, an NGO dedicated to promoting yoga as a therapeutic practice.
Before performing yoga on the banks of the Ganga river, the class begins with offering a prayer to Lord Shiva and chanting the Maha Mrityunjaya mantra. Then, you will do some warm-up exercises to prep for the asanas that are to follow. Next, you will perform the Surya Namaskar, a salutation to the Sun that is completed in 12 steps. Other yoga exercises that you will be performing include backward bending, spinal twist, forward bending, balancing asana, pranayam, and a lot more.
At the end of the class, the instructor will also educate you on the benefits of yoga. After finishing the session at one of the most renowned yoga retreats in Varanasi, we will drop you back to your hotel and the tour will finally come to an end.
