The tour will begin with our chauffeur picking you up from the hotel at 11:00 AM. Amongst the popular things to do in Sarnath, first, you will visit the Dhamek stupa. The site holds great spiritual significance as Gautam Buddha preached his first sermon to his five disciples at this holy site. The stupa was rebuilt by the emperor Ashoka.
You will then visit the Chaukhandi stupa, built during the Gupta period. Buddha met his five disciples here, which makes it another important Buddhist tourist attraction.
The next stop in the tour will be the Sarnath Museum. You will discover a collection of Buddha and Bodhisattva pictures, artifacts, miniature Buddhist paintings, Buddhist scriptures and texts, and preachings of Gautam Buddha in this museum.
Next, you will be taken to the Ashokan Pillar—one of the most regal living examples of Indian history erected by the Mauryan emperor, Ashoka, at Sarnath.
Your half-day tour will come to an end with a visit to Mulagandha Kuti Vihara, a monastery located in Sarnath. You will get a subtle glimpse into Buddhist philosophy by looking at a rich collection of wall paintings, frescos, Buddha statues, and Buddhist texts.
Our chauffeur will drop you back to your hotel after the half-day tour.
