Our driver will pick you up from the Hyderabad airport/hotel at 8:30-9:00 AM and your one-of-a-kind full-day textile village tour from Hyderabad will begin. You will be accompanied by a knowledgeable driver well-versed in the English language to assist you throughout the tour.
While traveling to Pochampally, the Silk City of India, you will get a beautiful glance at hills, ponds, green fields, palm trees, and valleys. In about 2 hours, you will reach the textile village. Pochampally is also known as Bhoodan Pochampally because the land was gifted to Acharya Vinoba Bhave, the founder of the Land Gift Movement.
During the day, you will learn about the hand-weaving technique of Ikkat sarees—the most popular aspect of the textile village. Our guide will give you an insight into the village and also make you meet the local families of weavers that have been doing this work for generations. You will also visit the Vinoba Bhave Memorial building and the Ikkat Weaving Museum for an informative and exciting session.
After this, your day excursion to Pochampally will finally come to an end. We will drive you back to Hyderabad airport/hotel from where you can proceed onwards.
