Your much-awaited Cochin evening excursion will begin at around 5:30 PM as our driver will pick you up from your hotel and take you straight to the Cochin Cultural Center. Here, you will be witness to an hour-long performance that will stay with you for a long time.
Lasting from 6:30-7:30 PM, the Cochin Kathakali dance show is a must-have experience for anyone who loves art and culture. The performers are dressed in heavy costumes and have bright makeup on. Each color used for face painting has a unique significance which is noted below for your reference:
Red: evil character
Green: protagonist or heroic fighter
Red lines and dots on cheeks: evil inner spirit
Black: hunters or dwellers
Yellow: monks or holy characters
Orange/saffron: pure woman
This classical dance from Kerala is popular for the artists’ brilliant expressions and amazing footwork. The drama depicted through this art form is inspired by Hindu epics like the Mahabharata, Ramayana, or the Purana's and is made even more magical with the captivating background music.
After watching this traditional dance of Kerala, you will also get to enjoy a fun musical performance by experienced musicians.
