Day 1: Arrival in Delhi
The tour will begin from Delhi. Our representative will pick you up from the airport in an air-conditioned car and drop you at the hotel for an overnight stay in Delhi.
Day 2: Delhi Sightseeing | Delhi—Bodhgaya [By Evening Train]
Your day will begin with a quick sightseeing tour of Delhi. First, you will take a stroll through Delhi’s famous monument—Qutub Minar. It is listed as one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites with a height of 72.5 meters. Then you will take a heritage walk to the Humayun tomb, known for a striking display of Mughal architecture. In the afternoon, we will provide you with a transfer service to the railway station to board the train for Gaya. The night will be spent on the train journey.
Day 3: Arrival at Bodhgaya
After you have reached Bodhgaya, we will pick you up from the railway station and drop you to the hotel. Your Bodhgaya tour will begin by exploring the Mahabodhi Temple as included in the Buddhist pilgrimage tour package. It is a site famously known as the holy place where Gautam Buddha attained enlightenment. After this, you will visit the Sujata Stupa or Sujata village, a place named after the milkmaid Sujata, who offered Buddha milk and rice while he was meditating under a banyan tree, culminating his seven years of asceticism. After this, you will visit the Niranjana River and other International monasteries followed by an overnight stay at a hotel in Bodhgaya.
Day 4: Bodhgaya—Rajgir—Nalanda
Post-breakfast, we will drive you to Rajgir. This site holds great spiritual significance for Buddhists and Jains alike. It is the holy site where Buddha began meditation and preaching at Griddhakuta Hills. Popular places to visit in Rajgir include Gridhakuta Hill, Bimbisara Jail, and Ajatshatru Fort.
After this, you will go to Nalanda, a place world-renowned for the ancient International Monastic University and the International Center for Buddhist Studies. It takes almost 15 minutes to get there. Then we will drop you back at the Bodhgaya Hotel for your night's stay.
Day 5: Bodhgaya—Varanasi [250 Kms, approximately 5½ Hrs]
On the fifth day of your trip, we will take you to Varanasi after a lip-smacking meal for breakfast at your hotel. Upon checking in and relaxing a bit at the Varanasi hotel, you will head towards Sarnath—a famous Buddhist pilgrimage site where Buddha preached his first sermon to his five disciples after attaining enlightenment. You will experience several famous things to do in Sarnath, including a visit to Dhamek Stupa and Deer Park (closed on Friday). Then we will escort you back to your hotel in Varanasi.
Day 6: Varanasi—Delhi
Around 5:30 to 6:00 AM, you will go on an early morning boat ride in Varanasi. As you go sailing through the Ganges, you will see the holy ghats and sacred morning rituals of the city. After the boat ride, we’ll drop you off at the hotel for breakfast and then take you on the Varanasi sightseeing tour. Top tourist attractions to see in Varanasi include Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Birla Temple, Bharat Kala Bhawan Museum, Monkey Temple, Durga Temple, and Bharat Mata Temple. Later in the evening, you will attend the Ganga Aarti. Post-Aarti, we’ll drop you off at the Varanasi railway station to catch the train to Delhi. The night will be spent on the train to Delhi.
Day 7: Delhi
Next morning, we will drop you off at the hotel from Delhi railway station. After you have had your scrumptious breakfast, you will join us for the Delhi sightseeing tour which includes places such as the Red Fort, India Gate, Parliament House, Rashtrapati Bhawan, and Raj Ghat (a memorial dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi). After this, the final visit is to the Lotus Temple. In the evening, we’ll drop you off at the airport.
Note: Lotus Temple is closed on Mondays. In case your tour falls on a Monday, we will only be able to show you the Lotus Temple from the outside.
